Rumours: Microsoft to take over RIM

Rumours are flying all over Wall St and Bay St at the purchase of global wireless email and data provider Research in Motion, the maker of the almighty Blackberry, by the massive Microsoft. Speculation even spilled over into the currency markets last night bumping the Canadian dollar up by three quarters of a percentage.

Could this be a signal by Microsoft that their effort to crack the wireless push email market has failed with Windows Mobile and now they just choose to buy, not only an established player in the game, but the largest player in the game.
I sure hope that if Microsoft does purchase RIM that they leave the cash cow as it. We all know how Microsoft can screw a good thing up.
