First Microsoft Seinfeld Ad

$300 million dollars and two guys who are retired and this is what you get? If Microsoft is really serious about taking on Apple’s switch ads then they are going to have to do better than this. I’ve watched this ad 10 times now looking for a message and all that I have been able to take from it is that computer might become warm and chewy. With ads like this it’s no wonder that Apple is still kicking their behinds in the marketing department.

Yeah, I agree. Dumb ad. Other than the bit at the end, the entire thing seemed to mostly be about the novelty of Seinfeld riffing with Gates. Maybe justifiable if they were a small company looking to build awareness and buzz, but Microsoft doesn’t need that. And it doesn’t build the Microsoft brand or encourage anyone to think different about them or anything. Whatever.

While I thought it was dumb as well, I do think they are trying to “personalize” Microsoft. Take it to a big bad behemoth and change it to a buddy you can joke around with.

I also agree with Mouse, its they are relying totally on the novelty of Seinfeld and I just don’t think it will work for them.
    They can do better!!
