Apple and NBC get divorced

Seems like NBC is getting a bit greedy, okay they are very greedy. Apple today released a press release noting that they and NBC would be parting ways. Apple stated that they have decided not to carry NBC’s upcoming season of shows since the contract would expire during the middle of the television season leaving iTunes users hung in the middle of a series.

NBC wanted to raise the price per episode to $4.99, let’s lay this out; $4.99 per episode, most TV shows usually run a 22 episode season, so $4.99 x 22 = $109.78. Are they on crack? You can buy most seasons for about $50 on DVD, a much higher quality that iTunes offers.

This is typical of old media, see an opportunity and then rape the consumer for it.
