iPhone Coming To Telus, A CDMA Carrier

Looks like Apple and Telus will break the exclusivity bond here in Canada as Telus is now reporting that they will be offering the iPhone 3G S here in Canada in November.

Funny thing about all of this is that Telus is a CDMA carrier. Could this signal the end to the GSM only iPhone? Could people in the US possibly see the iPhone on other carriers like Verison as well?

Pricing and availability still haven’t been posted, but as soon as we know more details we will pass them on.

Vancouver, B.C. – TELUS and Apple have reached an agreement to bring iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS to Canada this November.

Additional information about pricing and availability will be shared in the coming weeks.

Telus (and Bell) are in the middle of launching an HSPA+ network across Canada. The iPhones will be on that network, NOT the CDMA one.

T-Mobile is launching a similar network in the U.S.

You are 100% correct. I was so excited to see Rogers loose their exclusivity that I completely missed the fact that Telus and Bell are rolling out new HSPA networks.
