I absolutely love Kip Kay’s tutorials, they are quick, effective, and fun to do. Take this simple hack. With a $4 flashlight and a super powerful bulb you can make yourself a super powerful flashlight, much like the one’s you would spend $80-$100 on.

Best of all, this hack can be done without any soldering skills. This would be a perfect project to work with a kid and introduce him/her to the world of hacking and tweaking.
