Protect Your PC With A Magnet

Did you know that you could protect your PC or most other devices that use a power source from being powered on with nothing more than a magnet? All you need is a reed switch, a magnet and some duct tape. This is of course a basic protection and someone who really wanted to access it could simply remove the switch or replace the power unit in the PC, but this will protect you from people who want to casually access your machine.

It’s as simple as installing a reed switch inline with your motherboards power button cable and then taping the reed switch to the inside of the front panel of your case. Now when you press the magnet against the case at the position where you placed the reed switch the power button the PC will turn on.
