iPod touch VoIP app

dmd_1.jpg So it’s no big secret that I got a 16gb iPod Touch for X-mas, and it’s an even smaller secret that I sold my hacked iPhone a while ago so to see a VoIP app that might actually work for the touch has me all excited.

Apparently on new years day the guys at touchmods will release a VoIP app for the touch. The app will work with any SIP provider (including all you hardcore out there that are running asterisk) and will require a special microphone adapter that the guys are already pre-ordering on there site right now. They also have a bunch of video of the software actually working where they are making calls with the touch.

I’m already on the microphone order list, hope to get me one soon!

That’s all fine and dandy but how quickly will Apple move to kill this? If it works on the touch it should also work on the iPhone, no?

I’m sure 1.1.3 will put a stop to it.
