How To: VGA over Cat-5

If you have ever thought about moving your computer into another room because of the noise the system makes here’s a great little hack to save you some bucks on those very expensive long runs of VGA cabling.

All you’ll need is some Cat-5 cable (which is cheaper than a bunch of VGA cables) and a couple VGA ends. This will save you some bucks and allow for a much cleaner run of cables.

My only question is: what’s the maximum length of CAT5 you can use before the video signal degrades?

Nice, but can you connect it over your standard network, as in over a switch?

      No you can't.

Actually it's easier to make your VGA cable without the RJ45connector , in that way yu don't have to use a coupler.

I'm making an universal cat.5 cable now, it works actually pretty good.

I'm using just a straight trough cable, with a coupler and a short crossover i made it to a crossover,

and with 2 couplers and a vga wiring like the pictire above. It's a VGA cable.
Mine is about 15meters, and works well on 1024*768
