How To: Make A Metal Detector

Most kids are absolutely fascinated with electronic projects of some sort, take me for example, when I was a kids all I wanted to do was build radio receivers and play with my metal detector. That being said, I really wished that I knew about building this many years ago. This just seem to be more fun when you use your own two hands to put something together.

This simple and crude metal detector will work, not well, but it will get the job done, plus if the radio you use has an ear phone jack you can avoid annoying everyone around you. Then again, if someone on the beach looked at you walking up and down with a radio and calculator taped to a CD case and all of that taped to a broom handle, well, annoying them should be the least of your worries.
