Dev Kit For Your HP 20b Calculator

hp_20b.jpg Yes, you heard me, a dev kit for a calculator. I’m sure that only financial nerd have the HP 20b calculator in their arsenal of financial tools, but until know all you could do with it was, uhmm, calculate. Now that HP has released a dev kit that the say is “designed for developers who want to re-purpose the HP 20b and reuse the platform for other purposes.”

The HP 20b comes with an Atmel 30MHz, low-poer AT91SAM7L128 ARM7 System on chip processor and has a bootloader and JTAG interface to allow user applications to be written and downloaded.

As of the time of writing I haven’t seen any examples yet of the HP 20b being re-purposed, but there is an HP-20b Repurposing Project wiki already up and running that includes specs of the calculators hardware, what tools you will need to tinker with the unit and a handful of downloadable software demos.

Maybe someone could turn this into a Twiiter client.
